3.568 Bitcoin Outflow from Strategy Wallet Raises Sale Concerns
In just nine hours, 3.568 Bitcoin was withdrawn from wallets associated with Strategy, led by Michael Saylor. This movement, valued at approximately $297 million, has raised the possibility of a new wave of selling in the market. Lookonchain questioned whether the transfers were sales or merely inter-wallet movements. As one of the largest institutional holders of Bitcoin in the world, Strategy is known for large outflows often being seen as early signs of selling pressure. Arkham analyst Emmett Gallic stated that these transactions were not sales but rather internal transfers within Fidelity's custody infrastructure. Fidelity is able to manage Bitcoin assets belonging to clients within its system and can shift them between addresses. Investors are paying attention to these movements due to Strategy's rebuilding of its position after selling 6,916 BTC during the summer. The company purchased 1,665 BTC for $142.7 million between September 21 and September 27, increasing its total Bitcoin holdings to 847,666 BTC. Michael Saylor expressed that the company could maintain a net buyer position in the long term.
