80% of Gas Stations in Russia Face AI-95 Gasoline Shortage
In Russia, there is a severe shortage of AI-95 gasoline, which is available at only 22% of gas stations. According to the "Benzonaut" service, AI-95 gasoline can be found at just 5,600 out of 26,100 gas stations. In some regions, availability does not exceed 50%, with the worst situations in the Sakhalin region (3%), Crimea (2%), and Sevastopol (1%). In Moscow, AI-95 gasoline is available at 20% of filling stations. Saint Petersburg leads in availability (42%), followed by Tatarstan (41%) and the Oryol region (36%). The average price for a liter of AI-95 gasoline is 71 rubles. The second wave of the fuel crisis is affecting not only Moscow and Petersburg but also other regions. Fuel sale limits have been introduced in Moscow, where "Gazpromneft" has restricted the sale of gasoline and diesel to 40 liters per vehicle. The crisis has worsened following attacks by Ukraine on oil refineries, which have knocked out up to 40% of capacity. Starting from July 2026, Russia began importing petroleum products and imposed a ban on the export of diesel fuel.
