Bengio is committed to addressing the security challenges posed by AI, leading the LawZero project aimed at building protective systems capable of recognizing and preventing harmful behaviors such as AI deception and self-protection. The international AI security report he heads indicates that current security measures are unable to keep pace with the rapid development of AI capabilities.
