The Shanghai headquarters of the People's Bank of China held a work meeting for the second half of 2026, emphasizing the need to firmly maintain the bottom line of preventing systemic financial risks. The meeting pointed out the necessity to strengthen the assessment and verification of bank ratings, enhance monitoring and analysis of systemically important financial institutions, and continuously prevent and address the risks associated with speculation in virtual currency trading. At the same time, it actively promotes the regulation of online marketing practices for financial products by local institutions, improves the mechanisms for preventing and resolving systemic risks, strengthens the crackdown on illegal financial activities, refines the framework for macro-prudential management, and enhances the level of cross-border financial risk monitoring.
