DB Securities Digital Asset Team Leader: The Essence of Token Securities Lies in Opening Alternative Investments

Lee Joo-sik, head of the Digital Asset Business Team at DB Securities, stated at the Solana Summit held on September 30 at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Yeouido, Seoul, that "the essence of token securities lies in opening alternative investments, not in stocks or bonds." He emphasized that the domestic token securities market should not be overly focused on the simple tokenization of existing stocks and bonds, and it is important to create investment products from high-quality alternative investment assets that have been difficult for general investors to access. Lee mentioned that there should be consideration of the attractiveness of stock and bond products that expect annual returns of 3-4%, explaining that opening high-quality alternative investment assets, which were previously centered around institutional investors, to general investors represents new value. DB Securities is focusing on discovering products centered around non-standard securities and is also promoting a project in Busan that provides ship emission reduction devices in the form of financial leasing. Kyobo Securities is exploring ways to create investment products from K-culture content, while Shinhan Investment Corp is looking for the success criteria of token securities 'after issuance.'
