DTCC, Citigroup, and Swift Release White Paper Highlighting Interoperability as Key to Tokenization
DTCC, Citigroup, and Swift have jointly released a white paper titled "Connecting Organizations in Digital Finance," which points out that tokenization is moving from the experimental phase to implementation. The market needs to connect various platforms through interoperability to achieve efficient circulation of assets, cash, and data between traditional and emerging financial infrastructures. The white paper suggests that the future financial system will be a hybrid model of traditional systems, private networks, and public blockchains. Programmability will embed rules and automation into digital assets, supporting automated asset services, compliance controls, and event-driven payments. Coupled with interoperability, this can enhance collateral liquidity, liquidity management efficiency, and market resilience, especially during periods of market stress. The white paper emphasizes that institutional-level digital markets must be based on regulatory clarity, legal certainty, investor protection, operational resilience, and sound governance.
