Finger Expands into Blockchain, AI, and Robotics Based on Financial IT

Finger is expanding its business into the fields of blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and industrial robotics based on its financial IT operations. The structure adds group IT integration and physical AI business to its existing financial platform operations. Oh Hyun-jin, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, evaluates Finger as being in a "business expansion phase for financial IT companies," analyzing that the addition of group-related and new businesses to its stable existing financial IT operations provides potential for growth. Established in 2000, Finger is a first-generation fintech company in South Korea, focusing on building and maintaining platforms exclusively for non-face-to-face channels. In the first quarter of this year, the platform segment accounted for 68% of its revenue. In the blockchain sector, it is preparing for security token offerings (STO) and stablecoin-related businesses, but revenue contributions are limited due to delays in domestic legislation. Finger is developing proof of reserves infrastructure technology and also provides STO middleware solutions for financial institutions. In the first half of this year, it received approximately 110 billion KRW in investments from companies such as Seoryong Electronics, Seongho Electronics, and Moonpay, resulting in a change of major shareholders. In the robotics sector, it plans to acquire Michelorobotics to intensify data learning from manufacturing sites. Finger's revenue last year was 91.6 billion KRW, a 28% increase, while its revenue in the first quarter of this year was 20.5 billion KRW, a 1% decrease.
