Franklin Templeton's Seth Gins Diagnoses Increasing Appeal of Liquid Virtual Assets
Seth Gins, head of digital assets at Franklin Templeton, stated that institutional investors' approach to virtual assets is expanding from venture investments to liquid virtual assets. He explained that, considering the macroeconomic environment and the price adjustments of virtual assets, the appeal of liquid virtual assets is increasing. Gins emphasized that liquid virtual assets require various operational systems, including exchanges, custody, and risk management, and that institutional investors are moving away from early-stage investments in unlisted companies. He assessed that the combination of these two areas has reached an unprecedented level. Franklin Templeton is expanding its product offerings and operational base related to digital assets, and institutional investors are considering not only the investment targets but also internal approval processes and operational infrastructure. Gins did not specify particular coin prices or short-term market directions, mentioning that institutional funds are broadening their options between familiar asset classes and new operational areas.
