Jurassic Finance is conducting a rare RWA experiment on Solana by tokenizing a museum-grade Triceratops skull. The project aims to raise $660,000 in USDC to acquire a fossil named Deaton and establish a holding structure. Fundraising began at 4 PM on August 17, with nearly $300,000 raised in the first 30 minutes. As of the time of this report, $365,499 has been raised, achieving 55% of the target. CEO Aleksandar Pavlovic stated that the early response has exceeded expectations. The project will set up an SPV for each fossil, with the entity holding the physical asset and issuing corresponding SPL tokens on Solana. For Deaton, the project plans to use TRCH1 as the token code, allowing more participants to share in the economic rights of this high-value collectible. This Triceratops skull comes from the Hell Creek formation in Slope County, North Dakota, with a bone completeness of approximately 60% to 65%, retaining three original horns, and dating back about 66 million years to the Late Cretaceous period. The museum is responsible for display, custody, insurance, and maintenance, while token holders gain corresponding economic exposure. Vibhu Norby, Chief Product Officer of the Solana Foundation, mentioned that the market for long-tail assets such as collectibles, luxury goods, watches, tickets, and fossils on Solana is expanding. Jurassic Finance's fundraising continues Solana's exploration of alternative asset tokenization, pushing the scope of RWA into more niche collectible markets.
