Justin Sun Announces Tokenized Stocks on Tron for 2026
The Tron network will launch tokenized stocks in the fourth quarter of 2026, as announced by Justin Sun on October 8. This initiative aims to facilitate access to high-quality financial assets and will include U.S. Treasury debt securities. During the Token2049 conference in Singapore, Sun emphasized that the goal is to link the Tron ecosystem with traditional markets. Real-world assets (RWA) will be represented through tokens on the cryptocurrency network, allowing ownership to be recorded and transferred without intermediaries. Although the plan is ambitious, Tron has not revealed the technical architecture or the list of compatible stocks, and no details have been provided regarding regulatory compliance. Sun had anticipated this direction at the DAS Asia forum, mentioning that next year's focus will be on the U.S. to develop the project. Tron's proposal comes in a context of global expansion for RWAs, which reached a volume of $38.6 billion tokenized as of September 29, with a growth of 51% expected in 2026. However, this represents only 0.013% of a potential market of $300 trillion. Sovereign debt securities are the most operational, with $14 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds issued on blockchains, and major asset managers like BlackRock and ARK Invest are actively involved in this segment.
