Lighter to Launch Prediction Market with HIP-3 Whitelist Model

The decentralized order book exchange Lighter recently submitted an update in its codebase titled "Binary options support," indicating that its ZK Circuits may begin to support binary outcome markets. Each market has a settlement cap, with share prices trading between 0 and the cap, settling at either zero or the cap. Contracts are fully collateralized by USDC, with no leverage or liquidation involved. Analysis suggests that Lighter may introduce a "market operator" model, allowing whitelisted operators to create, manage, and be responsible for market settlements, similar to the deployment model of HIP-3.
