Michael Saylor Advocates for Bitcoin and Preferred Stock Digital Credit Architecture
Chairman of Strategy, Michael Saylor, posted on the X platform, leveraging four centuries of financial evolution to provide theoretical support for Strategy's digital credit product, Stretch (STRC). He pointed out that common stock separates capital from investment cycles, preferred stock provides priority claims, tax laws establish capital return mechanisms, and Bitcoin has become a new reserve asset for enterprises. Saylor emphasized that the underlying architecture of STRC is based on these historical foundations: supporting the balance sheet with Bitcoin, defining investor returns and claims with preferred stock, and achieving liquidity and capital formation through exchanges, shelf registrations, and ATM mechanisms. The product is set to be issued for the first time in July 2025, raising approximately $2.521 billion and purchasing 21,021 Bitcoins. Saylor believes that this combination of traditional financial instruments with new reserve assets in digital credit marks a new chapter in four hundred years of financial history.
