On August 17, SK Hynix was reported to have a "refund only, no replacement" policy for SSD after-sales service. A user applied for warranty service for their SK Hynix SSD, but due to a lack of available replacement stock, the final solution offered was a refund at the original purchase price. Currently, SSD prices continue to rise, with some SK Hynix products reaching twice their original prices. If users can only get back the original purchase amount, they may not be able to buy the same specifications again. SK Hynix's official website states that if a product cannot be repaired or replaced, a refund can be issued at the lower of the original purchase price or the current market fair value. Therefore, in cases where there is a lack of replacement stock, the original price refund policy will be adopted, and consumers face the challenge that the original price refund may not cover the cost of repurchasing the same level product.
