Solflare Card Suspends Service, User Funds Safe with New Version Launching in Weeks
The cryptocurrency wallet Solflare has announced that the Solflare Card will suspend services starting today due to the shutdown of its issuing partner, Kulipa. Solflare co-founder Vidor emphasized that user funds are safe, as the Solflare Card operates on an end-to-end self-custody model, with the card directly deducting from the user's wallet without the need for deposits or top-ups, meaning the issuer does not hold user funds. The team had attempted to help Kulipa find a buyer and continue operations but was unsuccessful. A new version of the Solflare Card is currently in development, which will support Apple Pay and Google Pay, offer higher limits, and provide cashback features, expected to launch in a few weeks.
