South Korean Conglomerates' Salaries Revealed for the First Half of the Year: Lee Jae-Yong Receives No Salary, Choi Tae-Won Earns 1.75 Billion Won

On August 17, regulatory filings revealed that Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-Yong has not received any salary in the first half of this year, continuing a trend that has persisted since 2017. SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-Won received 1.75 billion won (approximately 836,000 RMB) from SK Inc.

Doosan Group Chairman Park Jung-Won had the highest salary in the first half of the year, reaching 45.58 billion won (approximately 21.8 million RMB); Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-Youn earned 11.58 billion won (approximately 5.53 million RMB), while Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-Bin received 11.2 billion won (approximately 5.35 million RMB). LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-Mo earned 4.83 billion won (approximately 2.31 million RMB). Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chairman Chung Eui-Sun received 2.25 billion won (approximately 1.075 million RMB) from Hyundai Motor, 1.35 billion won (approximately 645,000 RMB) from Kia, and 900 million won (approximately 430,000 RMB) from Hyundai Mobis.
