Star Bridge Capital London Gold Liquidation Incident Involves 2,000 to 3,000 People, Some Funds Deposited in USDT
Star Bridge Capital (SBCFX) has experienced an abnormal liquidation incident in London gold trading, with its Hong Kong office now deserted, leaving some investors facing significant losses. Investors participated in automated trading of London gold (XAUUSD) derivatives through the platform and encountered extreme abnormal trading on the night of August 19: the system automatically generated massive reverse short positions within 1 to 3 seconds, followed by a rapid surge in international gold prices, leading to collective liquidations of accounts, with some account balances dropping to zero and even resulting in negative debts. It is estimated that around 2,000 to 3,000 investors have been affected, including a large number of mainland investors. Some investors have reported the incident to the Hong Kong police and are demanding the platform refund 70% of their principal based on the previously promised rule of "maximum loss of 30%." Star Bridge Capital offers leverage of up to 500 times, and some funds were deposited using USDT stablecoins, complicating the tracking of funds. Star Bridge Capital's business scope includes foreign exchange, commodities, indices, cryptocurrencies, etc., claiming to be a licensed and compliant international trading platform.
