Strategy Launches Nike Jordans, But Does Not Accept Bitcoin
Strategy has launched customized Nike Air Jordans for $250 per pair, but the shoes sold out immediately. Customers cannot pay for the sneakers with bitcoin, despite Strategy holding more bitcoin than any other publicly traded company. The Jordans are based on the Air Jordan 1 and are customized with the colors and branding of Strategy, but there is no official collaboration with Nike. Payments can only be made with credit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. This has led to mockery within the crypto community, as Strategy has built its business model around bitcoin. In addition to the Jordans, Strategy also sells clothing, accessories, and a board game about Bitcoin. The value of Strategy's bitcoin holdings increased by nearly $15 billion in fifteen days.
