A Trezor user clicked on a Google-sponsored search result impersonating Trezor, resulting in the theft of their life savings. The phishing page was hosted on Google Sites and tricked the victim into entering their wallet recovery seed. Trezor stated that they are upgrading their handling of the report, working to remove the website, and reminding users never to enter their wallet backups or recovery phrases on any website or online form. Google-sponsored phishing ads remain a persistent attack vector faced by cryptocurrency users.
