On July 9, while returning to the United States aboard Air Force One, President Trump stated that Iran had just called, expressing a strong desire to reach an agreement. He mentioned uncertainty about whether Iran deserves to reach an agreement and claimed that the U.S. has already won militarily, leaving Iran with nothing. When asked why Iran attacked commercial ships, Trump responded that Iran is somewhat crazy and out of control, but still very eager to reach an agreement.
