Ukraine Increases Cargo Transfers Through Railway Crossings with Poland by 9.2%
In August, the volume of cargo transferred through Ukrainian-Polish railway border crossings increased by 9.2% compared to July, amounting to approximately 1.24 million tons. In the first 23 days of August, nearly 1.24 million tons of cargo were transferred, with an average daily volume of 977 wagons, which is 39 wagons more than in July. Exports through the Polish route totaled 685 thousand tons, while imports reached 554 thousand tons. The largest share of exports consisted of ore - 268 thousand tons, container cargo - 228 thousand tons, and grain exports increased to 74 thousand tons. Transportation of agricultural products increased by 34 wagons per day, ore transfers by 13 wagons, while container transport decreased by 32 wagons. Polish carriers explained the decline in container cargo volumes due to difficulties with transshipment at the Mostyska II station. In total, in the first seven months of the year, nearly 9.8 million tons of cargo were transferred through Ukrainian-Polish crossings.
