Ukraine's National Debt Reaches 9,572.19 Billion UAH, Service Rate Decreased to 4.40%
As of July 31, 2026, Ukraine's total state and state-guaranteed debt amounted to 9,572.19 billion UAH (214.18 billion USD). Over the month, the volume of obligations increased by 81.31 billion UAH. The rise in debt in July was due to tranches from the International Monetary Fund (+24.3 billion UAH), the World Bank (+18.6 billion UAH), and the placement of government bonds on the domestic market (+31.58 billion UAH). Since the beginning of 2026, the debt has increased by 529.51 billion UAH. The debt structure is as follows: external debt - 7,299.96 billion UAH (76.26%), internal debt - 2,011.10 billion UAH (21.01%), guaranteed debt - 261.13 billion UAH (2.73%). The share of guaranteed debt decreased from 3.06% to 2.73%. 64.4% of the debt consists of concessional loans from international organizations. The main creditor is the European Union with 3,718.08 billion UAH. The currency structure is dominated by euros at 44.67%. The weighted average debt service rate decreased to 4.40% at the end of July, with a maturity period of 13.06 years. In July, the Ministry of Finance held 13 auctions, attracting 56.14 billion UAH.
