Uniswap founder Hayden Adams addressed the v4 fee switch controversy on the X platform, clarifying that the notion of "LP fees being reduced" is a misunderstanding. He stated that protocol fees are additive rather than deductive, and LPs still earn 30 basis points per transaction. He noted that the protocol fee on a 30 basis point pool is 5 basis points, accounting for about 14% of total transaction fees, and that LP earnings have not decreased. Hayden Adams also pointed out that centralized exchanges charge between 100 to 200 basis points per transaction, while Uniswap's fee of 5 basis points at the 30 basis point tier is 20 to 40 times cheaper. He criticized some forked projects for charging 100% of transaction fees and using token voting to set uneven inflation to "compensate" LPs.
