Voting Begins for XRP Ledger Permission Delegation Amendment

By:Β www.tokenpost.kr|2026/09/09 00:17:31

The 'PermissionDelegationV1_1' amendment for the XRP Ledger has entered the validator voting process. This amendment is included in xrpld 3.3.0, but mainnet activation has not yet been confirmed. The XRPL Foundation included this amendment in the xrpld 3.3.0 released on August 6, 2026, replacing the previous 'PermissionDelegation'. Account owners can delegate certain transaction permissions to other accounts. Permission delegation is structured to divide account-specific permissions, allowing operational accounts to be granted specific transaction rights while keeping the master key offline. This method is used to limit the scope of key permissions in an online environment. Stablecoin issuers can also utilize this method. Due to flaws in existing functionality, the XRPL Foundation has requested validators to vote against the previous amendment. The issue was discovered in the development environment on September 15, 2025, with the order of processing for permission checks and signature verifications being critical. Currently, 'PermissionDelegationV1_1' is marked as supported, but the default voting value is 'DefaultNo'. It must go through validator voting, and some validators have expressed their support. The overall voting results and whether the mainnet will be activated will be confirmed after the validator procedures are completed.
