The Drift Foundation has released an update on the recovery progress regarding the approximately $295.4 million stolen on April 1. About $9.2 million of the involved funds have been frozen, and further recovery will require law enforcement procedures. The stolen funds were cross-chained to Ethereum, with approximately 130,259 ETH distributed across four wallets, three of which hold about 107,165 ETH that has not yet moved; the other wallet transferred approximately 23,094 ETH to Tornado Cash on July 23. Mandiant has identified the attacker as the North Korea-linked threat group UNC6862. The foundation stated that the recovered funds will enter the DFX compensation pool and has launched a public bounty program in collaboration with Bybit, offering a 10% reward for successfully recovered funds; the subsequent arrangements for the DRIFT token are still under evaluation.
