Asia's Largest XRP Conference 'XRP Seoul 2026' Concludes Successfully with Over 5,000 Attendees
The event was hosted by XRPL Korea, with Ripple as the title sponsor.
XRPL Korea announced on October 6 that Asia's largest XRP conference, 'XRP Seoul 2026', took place on October 3 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul in the Yongsan District, concluding successfully with over 5,000 attendees. This year's conference was held during Korea Blockchain Week 2026 (KBW2026 with Upbit), marking a significant increase from approximately 3,000 attendees last year. Participants entered the venue using NFT tickets issued on the XRPL.
Key figures from the XRP ecosystem took to the stage to speak. Ripple President Monica Long led the lineup of Ripple's management, which also included Senior Director of Ecosystem Growth Christina Chan and Senior Director of Engineering Ayo Akinyele. Leaders from the global finance and blockchain sectors also participated, including Robinhood Senior Vice President Johann Kerbrat, Evernorth CEO Asheesh Birla, and SC Ventures Executive Director Alex Toh. Additionally, representatives from Korean financial institutions, including Woori Bank, Kakao Bank, K Bank, Kyobo Securities, Meritz Securities, and JB Bank, attended the event, bringing the total number of speakers to around 40.
In a fireside chat with Chan, Long stated that Ripple is conducting a credit pilot, aiming for a formal launch next year, and will use XRP as collateral to finance part of the payment flows for customers. Subsequently, Akinyele introduced new features set to launch on the XRP Ledger in his keynote speech, including confidential transactions based on zero-knowledge proofs and infrastructure specifically designed for AI Agents.
The establishment of XRP Asia was also officially announced. This is an independent organization supported by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation. Headquartered in Singapore, XRP Asia will support developer education, hackathons, and startup grants. XRP Asia President Sabrina Tachdjian stated that it plans to support already established communities such as XRPL Korea and XRPL Japan while building new communities across the Asia-Pacific region.
The sponsor presentations followed. In Kweather's segment, Wellbian Labs CEO Sunghwan Kim introduced new opportunities in weather data business. Then, t54 Labs founder Chandler Fang spoke about the Agent economy on the XRPL, while Flare co-founder Hugo Philion shared insights on XRP as programmable capital. Datavault AI CEO Nathaniel T. Bradley and Tria Chief Strategy Officer John Lilic presented on tokenized asset operating systems and Tria's new banking strategy for XRP, respectively.
Roundtable discussions covered how financial institutions can practically apply tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and tokenization of real-world assets. In a discussion involving Ripple, K Bank, Kyobo Securities, JB Bank, and Woori Bank, participants explored how to apply blockchain to cross-border payments and deposit services. In the stablecoin segment, Kakao Bank's Leo Lee introduced plans to integrate basic digital asset services into core banking systems starting in 2027; while in the tokenization segment, Meritz Securities' global digital asset head Samuel Shim stated that the Korean won stablecoin market needs clearer regulatory guidelines to achieve growth. Other roundtable discussions included topics on XRP utility and tokenized assets with participation from Evernorth, Flare, SOIL, and Firelight, as well as discussions on on-chain financial infrastructure, real-world applications of XRPL, and growth strategies for the XRP ecosystem.
In a segment titled 'The New Wave of On-Chain Innovation', Robinhood shared its views on tokenized stocks. Kerbrat pointed out that 70% of the company's trading volume occurs on weekends and at night, stating that 24-hour trading of tokenized stocks would be a remarkable shift. He explained that blockchain can solve settlement delays in traditional finance and improve trading infrastructure.
In the exhibition area, sponsors conducted interactive experience projects at their respective booths, engaging with attendees. These projects were not limited to the conference agenda but allowed participants to experience XRPL ecosystem services firsthand, receiving enthusiastic responses.
That evening, the Namsan Seoul Tower was illuminated to celebrate XRP Seoul. The beams projected on the tower displayed the XRP logo, along with the logos of Kweather, Doppler Finance, Datavault AI, and Evernorth.
A representative from XRPL Korea stated, "Following last year's attendance of about 3,000, this year over 5,000 community members gathered, demonstrating the market's high interest in the XRP ecosystem." He also mentioned, "Through XRP Seoul, we will continue to connect the global XRPL ecosystem with financial institutions, businesses, and developers in Korea, transforming these exchanges into real collaborations and services."
XRPL Korea plans to release a highlight video of the event in the coming days.
