Did Vlad Follow Pons to Claim the Robinhood Chain Launchpad Throne?
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev follows Pons founder.

On the morning of July 21, Vlad Tenev, co-founder and CEO of Robinhood, followed Pons founder @MEADGod. A few days earlier, Vlad had also followed Ogle, an advisor at World Liberty Financial (WLFI), which is active in the Pons ecosystem.
Following the rapid increase in the issuance and trading volume of Pons, these social actions have once again drawn market attention to this launchpad, which has been online for only about a week.
Although a Twitter follow does not equate to an official endorsement of Pons by Robinhood, Vlad's public interactions often serve as a basis for market judgments regarding project attention during a phase when the ecosystem landscape has yet to stabilize. However, whether Pons can convert this short-term enthusiasm into sustained issuance demand, trading volume, and protocol revenue remains to be seen.
Compared to mere social heat, Pons's greater leverage lies in its growth rate. According to existing data, Pons is rapidly capturing the market flow left by NOXA after it paused token issuance.
According to Dune data, as of 4 PM on July 20, Pons had been online for about a week, completing over 66,000 token issuances, with a cumulative trading volume exceeding $380 million. In terms of "launchpad token trading volume," Pons's market share has consistently exceeded 50% in the past two days; the platform has allocated approximately $3.56 million in fees to token creators.
What is the background of Pons?
The operating entity of Pons is registered as Pons Labs, LLC in the website terms, but the project has not disclosed a complete list of its real-name team. The core figure that can be clearly identified is the founder, known on Twitter as @MEADGod, nicknamed Ozzy.
Ozzy is also the founder of RootsFi. In May 2025, Ozzy described RootsFi in the Berachain official forum as a native lending protocol of Berachain, allowing users to mint the stablecoin MEAD through yield-bearing asset collateral. Currently, the Roots official website positions the project as a programmable currency payment network, claiming that the product is built on Canton and Tempo.
Another important factor drawing attention to Pons is the ongoing voice of WLFI advisor Ogle. There is currently no evidence showing that he serves as an advisor for Pons or participates in platform operations, but he is one of the more influential holders and promoters in the early stages of Pons's launch.
On July 18, Ogle disclosed his major holdings on Robinhood Chain, listing PONS as his second-largest holding, second only to Lighter. Since then, he has repeatedly published data on Pons's token issuance numbers, trading volumes, protocol revenues, creator earnings, and buyback and burn data. On July 20, Ogle stated that Pons had completed over 53,000 token issuances in five days, with a cumulative trading volume exceeding $300 million and protocol revenue exceeding $340,000, allocating approximately $2.65 million in fees to creators.
How does Pons operate?
Pons can be understood as a "one-click token issuance, instant trading, income backflow" system on the Robinhood Chain.
After the creator fills in the token name, symbol, image, introduction, social links, and fee receiving address, Pons will deploy the token and the corresponding Uniswap V3 liquidity pool in a single transaction. According to official documentation, each token has a fixed issuance of 1 billion, with a creation fee of 0.0005 ETH and a trading pool rate of 1%.
Unlike Pump.fun-style launchpads, Pons does not use a joint curve and does not have a step to migrate to DEX after reaching a certain market cap. Tokens enter the Uniswap V3 pool priced in WETH directly from creation, with liquidity positions automatically locked, and all buying and selling occurs in the same pool.
To reduce the risk of front-running in the first block, Pons has set a protection window lasting two blocks: only the creator's initial purchase can be executed in the block where the launch occurs; during the remaining protection period, a single wallet can hold a maximum of 5% of the total supply, with a cumulative purchase limit of 5.5%. Selling and wallet transfers are unrestricted, and all restrictions are automatically lifted after the protection period ends.
When the paired WETH in the pool reaches the default threshold of 4.2 ETH, the token will be marked as "graduated." However, graduation does not trigger liquidity migration and does not indicate that the project has received approval or endorsement; it simply indicates that the assets in the pool have reached the threshold set by the protocol.
Pons's core competitiveness comes from fee distribution.
Currently, for newly launched tokens, creators can receive 70% of the liquidity fees, while the protocol receives 30%; tokens issued in earlier versions still retain the old ratio of 90% for creators and 10% for the protocol.
Of the fees received by the protocol, 80% is used to buy and burn PONS through TWAP, while the remaining 20% is used for infrastructure costs and team expansion.
However, this mechanism is not entirely automatic and immutable. Pons's documentation clearly states that the 80% buyback ratio has not yet been solidified, and buybacks are still executed through automated TWAP combined with manual management. The team plans to transform it into an immutable, decentralized process in future versions.
Pons has also launched a community takeover feature. When the original creator abandons the project, active community members can apply to take over the social entry point and become the new recipient of creator fees, provided the contract allows it. Tokens, trading pools, and locked liquidity will not change as a result. This mechanism attempts to address the operational issues of Meme projects abandoned by developers, but applications still require team review, which reflects a centralized management aspect of the front-end service.
How long can Pons maintain its lead?
Pons currently occupies the leading position on the Robinhood Chain launchpad, but this competition is far from over.
Different competitors are approaching from various angles: Flap aims to compete for scale and issuance volume, Uniswap CCA targets price discovery, and Circus leverages the brand influence of BONK to gain attention. Of course, Pons currently leads in data, but it is no longer facing just one alternative platform; rather, it is contending with multiple issuance mechanisms that collectively siphon off funds.
More concerning is that Pons's issuance numbers have not yet translated into a sufficiently strong wealth effect.
As of the time of writing, Pons has cumulatively issued about 67,000 tokens, of which only 529 have reached the 4.2 ETH graduation threshold, resulting in a graduation rate of less than 0.8%. Excluding the platform's official token PONS, only YOLO has a market cap exceeding $5 million; there are only three tokens with market caps in the range of $1 million to $3 million.
In other words, Pons has proven it can produce tokens at a high frequency, but it has not established a stable tier of leading assets. The vast majority of projects are unable to graduate, and the proportion of projects that can exceed a market cap of $1 million is also very low. For launchpads, what truly determines whether users stay long-term is whether the platform can continuously produce representative high-market-cap projects. Leading tokens not only create revenue samples but also play a role in attracting new funds, extending trading cycles, and strengthening the platform's brand.
If users see a constant influx of new tokens but rarely witness early projects completing market cap expansion, funds will rotate more quickly: traders are more inclined to chase the next opening rather than hold already issued assets; creators may also be attracted by incentives, brands, or new mechanisms from other platforms. At that point, an increasing number of issuances may not necessarily mean a stronger ecosystem; rather, it could exacerbate the dilution of attention and liquidity.
Vlad Tenev's attention also has a dual nature.
For the still nascent Robinhood Chain ecosystem, a single follow or interaction from Vlad can attract significant attention and funds in a short time. However, whether prices can be sustained ultimately depends on liquidity depth, chip structure, and subsequent buying pressure.
If early holders concentrate their exits with the influx of new traffic, and the project fails to generate new demand, the price increase brought by attention may quickly turn into a pullback. Once similar situations occur repeatedly, the market will gradually become familiar with and pre-trade this pattern: some funds will ambush before interactions occur and concentrate on cashing out after the news spreads.
Gradually, as the market begins to interpret Vlad's attention as a short-term cashing point rather than a starting point for project growth, the marginal effect of each follow will diminish accordingly.
The battle for the Robinhood Chain launchpad is still ongoing. Pons has already secured a leading ticket to enter, but it still lacks a key proof to stabilize its position: whether it can grow from being "the platform with the most token issuances" to "the platform that most easily generates sustained wealth effects," encouraging creators to launch here first, enticing traders to stay long-term, and ultimately forming a habit and reliance on the platform itself.
