Former Sonic CEO Michael Kong Accuses Company of Breaching Agreement
Former Sonic CEO Michael Kong responded to Sonic Labs' statement announcing the immediate termination of their partnership, claiming that his departure was not voluntary. Kong pointed out that Sonic Labs sought his assistance on the same day and expressed hope for his well-being, but the announcement did not clarify the reasons, leading to misunderstandings that he was dismissed due to misconduct. Kong has negotiated and signed a severance and release agreement with Sonic Labs and its affiliates. Over the past two months, Sonic Labs has repeatedly promised to fulfill this agreement but is now refusing to execute it, and its existing contracting agreements have also not been honored. The release agreement stipulates that both parties must not publicly disparage each other, but Sonic Labs has publicly handled matters that should have been resolved internally, causing damage, which is why he chose to respond publicly. Kong previously won approximately $150 million in a lawsuit for the company in South Korea and cited a written evaluation from Fantom and Sonic owner David Richardson, stating that his work should be appreciated by the foundation. Kong stated that he reserves the right to make any claims against Sonic Labs and its affiliates.
