Julius Baer Expects Fed to Raise Rates by 25 Basis Points in December
Swiss private bank Julius Baer expects the Federal Reserve to implement a final rate hike of 25 basis points in December, followed by a prolonged pause. The bank noted that the U.S. labor market is cooling, and financial conditions are tightening significantly, driven mainly by rising long-term Treasury yields and a stronger dollar, rather than increases in short-term rates. December is seen as the most likely window for the final rate hike.
