Ledger Wallet – October 2026: Circulating Your Cryptos Without Losing Control
Third meeting of the year for the release notes of Ledger, and this time the company focuses its reflection on flows. Value enters, traverses networks, and then emerges in daily life: these are steps that the user must be able to follow and validate. This is the guiding thread of the October 2026 updates. A thread that connects seemingly distinct innovations, all converging towards a common requirement: that every movement remains readable, controllable, and physically confirmed. Because in an ecosystem where paths multiply, the endpoint must never escape the one who signs.
See Clearly, Choose Widely, Keep Control
The triptych highlighted by Ledger can be summarized in three words: clarity, choice, control. Specifically, thanks to the Ledger Wallet app, you can control at a glance the composition of your portfolio and the performance of each token held. On the operations side, the ecosystem claims access to around fifty providers and a hundred blockchains, with direct connections to 1inch, Velora, and now Morpho. However, the most notable innovation remains the ability to utilize your bitcoins without selling them.
Crypto Loan: BTC as Collateral, Stablecoins in Pocket
This is the central point of this release. Named Crypto Loan, the service relies on Morpho, an on-chain credit network, and involves the technical integration of Yield.xyz. The principle: deposit wrapped Bitcoin (cbBTC or wBTC) as collateral, then borrow USDC or USDT. You thus maintain your exposure to Bitcoin for the entire duration of the loan, instead of having to close your position to regain liquidity.
The operation takes place directly in Ledger Wallet, without an intermediary holding the funds for you: Morpho's smart contracts govern each interaction, and everything happens on-chain. The interface aims to be free of complex jargon, with native tracking of the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio. At any time, you can add collateral, repay, borrow more, or withdraw part of your collateral in just a few clicks. And the cherry on top: a prior simulation even allows you to test a scenario before committing. It is now possible to borrow stablecoins by depositing bitcoins.
Notably, each step of the loan lifecycle (initial approval, collateral deposit, repayment, withdrawal) is displayed in clear language on the secure screen of your Ledger signer thanks to Clear Signing. You can read clearly what you are about to validate, rather than deciphering computer code. And as usual, your private keys never leave the secure element of the device.
Direct Access to Morpho: Three Components, One Logic
Far from being a basic dApp, Morpho deploys a multi-level architecture, each responding to distinct needs:
- Morpho Blue: the rates are floating and anyone can deploy a segmented credit market, with their own rules regarding collateral and lent assets.
- Morpho Midnight responds to another logic, that of fixed rates, where lenders and borrowers negotiate tailored conditions.
- Morpho Vaults offer yield products managed by professionals, who automatically distribute deposits across different markets.
From this superposition arises a flexible and transparent on-chain credit network that can be joined from Ethereum or major L2s through a single secure connection. Deposit, withdrawal, borrowing: everything is managed from the same entry point. Morpho Homepage

Security, an Invariant of All Innovations
Ledger emphasizes one point: regardless of the diversity of new uses, the passage point remains the same. Private keys are generated and locked in a certified secure element, never leaving the signer.
Each transaction is presented on a secure screen for human review and physical approval. Clear Signing translates contract functions into understandable phrases, and Transaction Check complements this system. The application serves as an entry point to the ecosystem; it is the device that confirms the intent.
Spurs Edition: 250 Collector's Copies of the Ledger Nano Gen5
Basketball fan? Ledger has just released an ultra-limited edition of 250 copies of the Ledger Nano Gen5 in the colors of the San Antonio Spurs, with whom Ledger has been a partner for over a year.
The package includes the engraved device, team-colored packaging, a Spurs badge, and a $20 BTC voucher. Technically, nothing changes: same secure element chip, same advanced functions as the rest of the range. Ledger Nano Gen5 Edition in the colors of the San Antonio Spurs
Key Takeaways
With several years of experience, Ledger continues to solidify its position as a reference in the hardware wallet market. Far from resting on its laurels, the brand is evolving its ecosystem at a steady pace: the family of signers is expanding with each launch, while the Ledger Wallet application regularly gains new features to meet increasingly diverse needs.
