Norway to Increase Investments in Ukrainian Business to €443 Million
The Norwegian development fund Norfund will allocate an additional €350 million for investments in Ukrainian private businesses from 2027 to 2030. The total amount of the fund's resources for Ukraine will increase to €443 million, including the already allocated €93 million. Investments will be made through the Investment Fund for Ukraine, which Norfund has been managing since 2024. The fund provides companies with commercial loans and can take equity stakes, with individual investments ranging from €5 million to €50 million. In 2027, €70 million is earmarked for investments in Ukraine, while in 2028-2030, €93 million will be allocated annually. Norfund plans to invest in profitable Ukrainian companies with growth potential, with priority sectors including renewable energy, manufacturing, agribusiness, and the banking sector. The fund can acquire minority stakes in Ukrainian companies, while control over the business will remain with the current owners. Norfund is owned by the Norwegian government and invests in developing countries. Among its projects in Ukraine are the expansion of the M10 industrial park in Lviv and the modernization of the Yarych factory.
