Report from MEXC Ventures: Multi-Asset Trading Increases in Asia
A new report from MEXC Ventures and Blockworks Research notes that TradFi trading via CEX is on the rise in Asia. Notable data includes a 3,308% increase in Futures trading volume among MEXC users in the region in Q2 2026 compared to the previous quarter.
Multi-Asset Trading Increases in Asia
On August 25, MEXC Ventures and Blockworks Research released the report "The Cross Asset Shift," analyzing trends of cryptocurrency users approaching gold, stocks, and some traditional financial assets through centralized trading platforms.
According to a survey conducted by MEXC, 62.6% of participants primarily trading crypto in Asia reported that precious metals are the traditional assets they trade the most via CEX. 87.2% of survey participants indicated plans to increase their TradFi trading levels through these platforms.
In Southeast Asia, the average daily number of users trading Spot related to stocks on MEXC increased by 153% in Q2, while the volume rose by 348% compared to Q1. By Q3, as of August, both metrics continued to increase by 159% and 87% respectively compared to the previous quarter.
Stock Futures Record Strong Growth
The report states that RWA, foreign exchange, and crypto stocks account for less than 2% of Spot volume on the surveyed CEXs but represent over 12% of Futures volume.
In July 2026, the total Futures volume of these three asset groups reached nearly $400 billion. MEXC and BingX were reported to each account for about 20% of the volume in the stock-related Futures segment.
MEXC's internal data shows that the average daily number of stock Futures traders in Asia increased by 386% in Q2, while the volume surged by 3,308%. In Southeast Asia, the corresponding increases were 399% and 6,648%.
For precious metals, open Futures contracts reached $1.98 billion in May and dropped to $1.69 billion by the end of June, equivalent to 36.2% of the total open TradFi Futures contracts reported.
Liquidity and Risk Management Remain Major Challenges
The survey revealed that 75.1% of participants in Asia experienced a significant market event when traditional markets were closed. At the same time, 53.8% felt that traditional brokerage fees were high, and 42.6% believed that the account opening process was complicated.
However, the report also states that the development of multi-asset trading needs to be accompanied by deeper Spot liquidity, better price transparency, risk management capabilities for leveraged trading, and liquidity outside of traditional trading hours.
The above figures reflect trends within the dataset and user group studied, a significant portion of which comes from MEXC's survey and data. Therefore, these ratios do not necessarily represent the entire investor base or the Asian market.
