SEC Commissioner Uyeda Drops Some Crypto Lawsuits to Maintain Credibility

By: www.odaily.news|09/24/2026 00:06:55

SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda stated that the SEC's decision to drop some lawsuits against crypto companies is due to a "180-degree shift" in regulatory policy. Continuing to defend legal interpretations that are likely to be overturned could damage the SEC's credibility. Uyeda believes that the SEC's recently introduced tokenized securities "innovation exemption" is a pilot program that creates opportunities for new entrants and traditional financial institutions to explore on-chain securities trading. This exemption was approved on September 17 and is a temporary, conditional regulatory exemption.
