Soluna and Bitdeer Expand Texas Bitcoin Mining Deal by 7 MW
Soluna and Bitdeer have expanded their Project Kati 1 agreement by approximately 7 MW, increasing Bitdeer's total deployment at the Texas site to 35 MW and about 2.42 EH/s. The additional capacity is expected to be deployed by November, fully booking the K1BC phase of the project. Under the agreement, Bitdeer supplies and owns the mining equipment, while Soluna provides the data-center site, power, and operating infrastructure. The two companies share the mining proceeds generated by the deployment. Bitdeer is using Sealminer A2 Pro Air machines for the project. This arrangement differs from traditional hosting deals, as Soluna's co-mining structure allows it to benefit from the Bitcoin produced rather than relying solely on fixed hosting revenue. Project Kati 1 is an 83 MW facility connected to wind generation in Willacy County, Texas. The expansion comes just a month after the original 28 MW agreement was announced, reflecting confidence in the site amid changing Bitcoin mining economics.
