A survey by Visa and CoinShares reveals that interest in stablecoin payments is increasing among consumers in the Asia-Pacific region, with 46% of respondents likely to use stablecoins in the next five years, up from 16% who have used them in the past 12 months. While 66% of respondents are aware of stablecoins, only 6% can accurately understand how they work, and 38% of non-users express concerns about fraud. The CoinShares survey indicates that a majority of wealthy investors across seven markets already hold digital assets, with the proportion ranging from 54% in Sweden to 70% in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, with allocations concentrated at about 10% of their portfolios. Additionally, 80% of digital asset investors hold Bitcoin, and at least 85% of existing investors plan to increase their exposure by 2026, with only 6% primarily positioning themselves as short-term traders.
