Strive by Vivek Ramaswamy Becomes the 7th Largest Public Holder of Bitcoin
A seventh place secured with tens of millions of dollars. Between August 17 and 21, Strive added 1,110 bitcoins to its balance sheet for $81.5 million, bringing its treasury to 21,356 BTC. This allowed it to surpass SpaceX and secure a spot among the seven largest publicly traded Bitcoin holders, a ranking that Vivek Ramaswamy's company had only entered a few months earlier. The race for treasuries continues, even in a market phase that is already well advanced.
Key points of this article:
- Strive has surpassed SpaceX to become one of the seven major publicly traded Bitcoin holders, with a treasury of 21,356 BTC.
- Strive paid approximately $73,409 per bitcoin, strengthening its position in a market where entry prices continue to rise.
Strive paid an average of $73,409 per bitcoin, fees included, according to the filing submitted to the SEC on August 24. Its treasury now weighs 21,356 BTC, worth about $1.7 billion at current prices. This is a 5.5% increase in just a few days, in a market where entry prices keep climbing.
The Strive stock (Nasdaq: ASST) has jumped over 7% in response. This is not surprising. In this type of case, the market pays less attention to the price paid than to the trajectory. And the trajectory here has only been accelerating since the company went public through its merger with Asset Entities in September 2025.
Yes, the time when Strive surpasses Strategy is still far off. The Bitcoin treasury of Strategy, Michael Saylor's company, exceeds 630,000 BTC. Compared to that, Strive's 21,356 BTC looks almost like a starting bet. However, the ranking of public holders has never been a two-horse race: Marathon Digital, Twenty One, and a good dozen other players are competing for the following spots, often just a few thousand bitcoins apart. Climbing one or two ranks in this pack requires, week after week, a check that few publicly traded companies can afford to write.
What distinguishes Strive is the consistency of accumulation since its market entry. No summer pause or profit-taking. Almost every week brings new purchases, documented in SEC filings that The Block methodically analyzes.
Moreover, the appetite does not seem to be waning anytime soon. Strive recently announced plans to buy up to 75,000 bitcoins in claims from Mt. Gox still held by creditors awaiting repayment since 2014, a roundabout way to accumulate BTC at a discounted price without going through the spot market. If this operation succeeds, it could propel Strive much higher in the ranking without spending a single additional dollar at market price.
Each week of the rally reshuffles the ranking cards a bit. Bitmine, Metaplanet, and a handful of other treasuries are playing the same game, at different scales, on sometimes different assets. Strive has just demonstrated that it is still possible to climb several places in a few weeks, even when Bitcoin flirts with its yearly highs.
However, holding Bitcoin is not without risk: in 2022, Riot Platforms and MARA Holdings had to liquidate part of their reserves to keep their accounts in check, a bill that no one at Strive wants to see again.
