Variational Pro to Focus on Institutional-Level OTC Derivatives Market
Variational founder and CEO Lucas Schuermann revealed details about Variational Pro at the X Space event. Variational Pro will focus on the institutional-level over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives market, covering options, interest rates, foreign exchange, and structured products. The OTC derivatives market has an outstanding notional value of approximately $850 trillion, with Bitcoin derivatives having an outstanding contract volume of about $100 billion. The business scale of Variational Pro is expected to surpass that of Variational Omni, aiming to automate traditional OTC derivatives trading processes through multi-dealer pricing, smart contracts, and stablecoin settlements. Some trading tools of Variational Pro may be opened to retail investors on Variational Omni, and partnerships with several mainstream institutions have already been established, with large clients expected to join Variational Pro soon.
