Stripe plans to expand its stablecoin card business to over 100 countries by the end of the year. Henri Stern, co-founder of the Stripe crypto wallet infrastructure company Privy, has also taken on the role of head of Stripe's stablecoin and crypto business. Current stablecoin card clients include Kraken, Ramp, and Morse. According to Paymentscan data, stablecoin spending via cards last month was approximately $1.2 billion, three times that of the same period last year. Stern stated that Stripe will keep stablecoins and blockchain separate, with many projects currently using USDC. The company is also exploring tokenized deposits and DeFi use cases, but the vast majority of work remains focused on stablecoins.
